Richard Ferguson

Building Operations Manager

Rich is a master wood craftsman. He was born in Jamaica where he built his first home by hand. He learned how to work with wood and stone from his grandfather who was a master mason. In 2019 Rich began working for Rob Taylor. His first job was installing the stick roof on the Schifferdecker home. He finished out the roof by assisting in the construction of the dormer. Through the years Rich worked on nearly everything that was associated with wood, from the wooden porches to the Schifferdecker oak formal staircase. In 2025 he was the sole worker on the site. Rich was involved in the finishing touches, getting the site properly prepared for the grand opening. He installed every drape and window dressing, as well as the 120 framed art pieces. Rich also has intimate knowledge of the weight of each and every piece of displayed furniture because he moved them. In 2026 he began his eighth year at the historic site. Rich continues today as the Building Operations Manager. His can-do spirit is contagious.
